Honouring 100 years of nationhood, Australia celebrated the Centenary of Federation in 2001.

Uniting the colonies as one country, and confirming a growing sense of national identity, the official ceremony was held in Sydney's Centennial Park on January 1st 1901. The venue for unprecedented scenes of jubilant patriotism, the Rotunda where the proclamation took place it pictured on the front of this pack.

Celebrating the most important milestone on the road to independence, the 100th anniversary of Federation has been recognised with the approval of an official legal tender commemorative.
