A PNC, or Postal Numismatic Cover (also referred to as a Philatelic Numismatic Cover), is a collectible envelope that combines a stamp with a coin—typically a newly issued, limited-edition, or commemorative coin.

Postal Numismatic Covers (PNCs) have a fascinating history and hold significant value for collectors. They emerged as a collaboration between postal organisations and mints, combining philately (stamp collecting) and numismatics (coin collecting) into a single collectible item. The first official Australian PNC was issued in 1994, featuring the "Year of the Family" 50-cent coin.

PNCs often commemorate important events, anniversaries, or cultural milestones, making them highly sought after. For instance, military-themed PNCs, such as those honouring the ANZACs, are particularly popular. Some PNCs include coins or stamps that are exclusive to the cover, adding to their rarity and appeal.

Their significance lies in their ability to tell stories through their designs, connecting collectors to history, culture, and shared heritage. Over time, PNCs have become a vibrant niche in the world of collectibles, with limited editions and unique themes driving their desirability.
